The Wednesday Young Athletes sessions offer an introduction to athletics based around Run, Jump and Throw activities, as recommended by England Athletics.
Session Level: Beginner athletes
Age: School Years 4-7
Timing: 6.30pm-7.30pm
Lead Coaches: Susie Duncan and Jim Wotton
The 60-minute sessions incorporate:
* Warm up
* Winter months: activities based on indoor Sportshall athletics
* Summer months: use of the athletics track to cover all Track & Field events, including relay races
* Cool down and stretching exercises
Susie and Jim are assisted by a number of ambassadors and parent helpers.
Additionally, at any one time the club has a number of members and parents acquiring qualifications in Coaching and Fitness Running courses.
All our coaches are DBS checked and have attended and completed Safeguarding and First Aid courses.
