Ellie Sets New 10K Record

Participating in the 5th race of the Lightning Bolt 10K 2023 series, Ellie Wallace established a new course record of 32:49.4 minutes as she stormed to win the women’s section of the race on her debut at the event.

The previous course record was 34.46 minutes.

Held at Langley Burrell Village Hall, just outside Chippenham, and organised by DB Max, the course is rated as the one of fastest 10K races in the UK with an elevation of just 14 metres.

In a mixed race Ellie finished in fourth place overall, and was followed home closely by Tom Gostelow – one of the club’s adult members – in sixth place in an equally impressive time of 32:52.0.

Next up for Ellie is the 10K Speedway race in January next year – another race that has a reputation for being fast and promoted as a ‘race for racers’.
